The youth and their guests visited, played games and enjoyed a delicious meal together. Bro. Snow, Emcee extraordinaire, conducted the evenings activities. There was a short musical program. Cassie and Macie Taylor sang beautifully and Benjamin Behymer shared his talent on the viloin. Everyone had a great time together. Thank you to everyone who participated. It was a wonderful evening.

RS Lesson March 14th

If you were unable to be in RS today, here is a link to the conference talk that was shared.  It is a talk by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf at the Relief Society Broadcast in 2008.  It is a an excellent talk entitled " Happiness, Your Heritage."  Click Here.

Sister Rowe also brought her famous delicious chocolate chip cookies.  HERE IS THE RECIPE!
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups oatmeal
chocolate chips (when I have them...I use semi-sweet, white and milk chocolate)
Cream sugars, shortening and eggs using electric mixer. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt and stir gradually into creamed mixture. Add vanilla and oatmeal...then chocolate chips. (may need an additional tablespoon or two of flour) I use a cookie scoop, and bake them at 350 for about 10 to 12 minutes. (turn the pan after 5 minutes...to ensure that the cookies bake evenly) The secret to keeping them soft--is to not over-bake...they may appear underdone when you first take them out of the oven. (Makes 3 dozen cookies)

Relief Society Birthday Dinner

March 10th was the Relief Society Birthday dinner for all the sisters in the ward. It was a very fun evening. The theme was "Hats Off to Sisters". It was a great dinner and fun evening to share with each other. We enjoyed a chocolate fountain,Oscar's lemon chicken, and salad. We also saw Muriel Olson's beautiful hat collection which was on display. Thanks to all who came and to all who worked to make this a memorable evening.
