Handprint cards and art

Counting, Put something like cotton balls in a paper bag, let them grab a handful and count them. Then you grab a handful and count.

Sorting
Pot and lid, socks and shoes, fork and spoon, comb and brush
Choose an item and have them find its match.

Balance
Have them walk with a beanbag on their head or along a rope on the ground.

Walk this way
On a walk take big strides, march, slow and fast etc.

Throw things into a bucket then dump the bucket.

Bath time measuring
Have different sized cups or stacking cups and fill some full empty etc. Dump into one another, dump them out, fill them etc. Helps with learning volume.

Glitter Playdough recipe
4 c. flour
2 c. non-iodized salt
4 c. water
8 t. cream of tartar
4 T. oil
Mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar and water together. Pop the saucepan on a medium heat and stir until a large thick ball happens. Sit aside to cool. Once cool add the oil and food coloring - knead together on a floured board and work the glitter through. (I used kosher salt and measured it then ground it fine in the blender. It worked very well.)

  1. Anyone interested in making a Quiet Book at one of our MNO? I found a cute pattern.
